If you ...Karl Rove is an unusually odd and sad man. If you know anything about his background, you know he is motivated by his feeling of being forever an outsider – he is a geek, unloved, unwanted and unappreciated. This is hard for a man who has not developed or matured substantially since about the age of early adolescence.
He wants to be respected and this accounts for his " Aren't I an amazingly clever boy?" stance.

The problem is, the only person to take advantage of him and make him feel important was George Herbert Walker Bush. I think the first Bush president felt sorry for him and gave him a few chores including attending to W's car delivery whenever the flyboy flew into town. W probably admired, maybe even envied Karl's intelligence and creativity. But let there be no mistake, Karl was not a blue blood by any means, was to maintain his place in the social order and was expected to be grateful for being at least a "turd blossom".

Karl never will be happy and insists on raising the stakes on his exploits, secretly wishing that he might get caught and somehow prove his love for... well let's just say he would end up being a martyr.

It is all just a game for him. You can easily imagine him disappearing into a small quiet room and giggling to himself.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10521411649171938653noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3144245251884470783.post-13802724466088855812008-08-30T12:42:00.000-04:002008-08-30T12:42:00.000-04:00Senator Clinton and Governor Palin are proof that ...Senator Clinton and Governor Palin are proof that women can and do diverge on important issues.

The 'women's vote' is a myth!

Suffragettes were opposed by many women who were what was known as 'anti.'

They believed women were incapable of selecting or becoming political leaders, even as they themselves took leadership roles against votes for women!

The most influential 'anti' lived in the White House. First Lady Edith Wilson was a wealthy Washington widow who married President Wilson in 1915, six months after the death of his pro-suffrage wife Ellen.

She endeared herself to her future husband, who had consistently opposed votes for women, when she declared at their first meeeting that she didn't even know who the candidates were in the 1912 election, and felt that women had no business whatsoever in politics.

Her precise role in the jailing and torture of Alice Paul and hundreds of suffragettes will never be known for certain, but she was outraged that they picketed her husband's White House.

Most people are totally in the dark about HOW the suffragettes won, and what life was REALLY like before they did.

"The Privilege of Voting" is a new FREE e-mail series that follows eight great women from 1912 - 1920 to reveal ALL that happened to set the stage for women to finally win the vote.

It's a real-life soap opera!

Extremely powerful suffragettes Alice Paul and Emmeline Pankhurst are featured, along with Edith Wharton, Isadora Duncan, Alice Roosevelt, presidential mistresses and First Lady Edith Wilson.

There are tons of heartache for these heroines on the rocky road to the ballot box, but in the end, they WIN!

Exciting, sequential e-mail episodes are perfect to read during coffeebreaks!

Subscribe free at

www.CoffeebreakReaders.com/subscribe.htmlVirginia Harrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09724036765002243807noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3144245251884470783.post-23841328141962796472008-08-14T13:01:00.000-04:002008-08-14T13:01:00.000-04:00Amen! The subsequent generations (Me, X, etc.) give no notice to collected wisdom. Age, or advancing age, is patronized - not respected - regardless of the fact that those who are nearing or at retirement are more vital and intelligent than most - (reverse ageism?) In regards to this particular election - once again, the public is left with the "lesser of two evils" - after women in general were pushed back in a blatant attack on gender vis-à-vis Hillary Clinton (the most qualified of the three candidates) - Betty Boop is an excellent choice - the character has "moxie".Tina Hemondhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04116707390046000723noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3144245251884470783.post-33959872173507735292008-08-01T05:35:00.000-04:002008-08-01T05:35:00.000-04:00I'm not entirely sure that Obama's running mate is...I'm not entirely sure that Obama's running mate is relevant to how well he does in this particular election - (McCain's for that matter) - Historically speaking, the second banana does little in the long run - in the general election - they possibly bring a state or two with them - what the point should be is that the "boys" in the party (and one power crazed Nancy Pelosi hating to share any spotlight), sandbagged Hillary Clinton - it was so obvious and blatently sexist that conservatives who would never have given Hillary Clinton a kind word, were now looking at her in a new light - (think Ann Coulter - even she was outraged.) They missed the boat, Clinton was one candidate who would have pulled women from both sides of the aisle:
1) conservatives are not entirely comfortable with McCain, but he is "not Obama" - (which by the way, was the way Bush won the last election - he was "not Kerry")
2) She was the only candidate out there with viable plans.

It was an historic moment that slipped away - if Democrats are looking to cast blame come November 5th - here is the list: Dean, Carter, Gore, Kennedy, Kerry, Reid, PelosiTina Hemondhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04116707390046000723noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3144245251884470783.post-27563625127761401912008-07-23T06:29:00.000-04:002008-07-23T06:29:00.000-04:00Women have made advances in almost every aspect of...Women have made advances in almost every aspect of American culture the past 50 years that, to some, seem sufficient, however, one of the biggest battles that remains to be fought is the prosecution of those who feel entitled to abuse – spouse, live-in, ex -, and children from these relationships. The woman is indeed the victim 90% of the time, although the fact sheet does include 10% same-sex and male cases – 90% - why? Why is it that a particular gender feels entitled to “Lord it Over” another? - In cases where there is a child or children, regardless of the form the abuse takes, there is the trickle down affect – the children of these relationships are also at risk – be it physical or mental abuse. I wish one could find an easy answer to this particular solution, unfortunately, until the punishments begin to fit the crimes, this will continue – support, specifically from other women, is critical – those that cannot comprehend being trapped in a relationship (even though one may have legally left the other spouse), have no idea of what is going on in the mind of a victim – when there is a child, guilt (from both the state (shared custody) and the psyche), is a foregone conclusion – it has nothing to do with a woman being “weak” – it is the wearing down of the soul – and an acceptance that one is “doing the right” thing – when every fiber of their being is screaming to escape – support, support, support – without societal judgment (i.e. – a woman should be everything – it is getting tiring), is what a woman needs. Excellent article.Tina Hemondhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04116707390046000723noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3144245251884470783.post-66811888035589388382008-07-09T20:01:00.000-04:002008-07-09T20:01:00.000-04:00Huzzah! (but only in Senator Obama's case).
September 11, 2001 made it clear just how dear this country is to many of us - disagreeing with policy does not make one unpatriotic, that is a right that we celebrate with vigor! One may disagree with policy and still show respect for a great nation. There is no other country that enjoys the freedom and opportunity that this land has to offer - which may be why people are constantly trying to break in - not out!Tina Hemondhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04116707390046000723noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3144245251884470783.post-49202478012837705722008-06-06T18:59:00.000-04:002008-06-06T18:59:00.000-04:00The Progressive media has transparently and patent...The Progressive media has transparently and patently made it clear that the glass ceiling indeed exists - instead of treating Hillary Clinton as a capable candidate, they focused on the frivolous, harped on every possible feminine trait and ingored this extremely capable, experienced and competant candidate - frustrating and infuriating those who have lived long enough to understand that women may have come a long way but are by no means considered equal.Tina Hemondhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04116707390046000723noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3144245251884470783.post-18398908711486533672008-05-01T20:24:00.000-04:002008-05-01T20:24:00.000-04:00:).. that assumes we'll be able to afford air tick...:).. that assumes we'll be able to afford air tickets or gas prices to get there a year from now... :)

well, i'm prejudiced towards including '62 as the first graduating class, and '63, as the first to go four full years at BRHS [and it's MY class, too.. ]

if positive responses start coming in, you might consider expanding the class year list until something like a "reasonably-sized" crowd could be expected... maybe 50-100 or more? enough to overwhelm a restaurant or two, and enough to cover the rental of a dance hall for a "gathering" at a modest price per person...

just thinkin... neat idea! thank you!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3144245251884470783.post-82986791642704868312008-05-01T19:33:00.000-04:002008-05-01T19:33:00.000-04:00These are all great ideas and I'll see what the co...These are all great ideas and I'll see what the consensus is.
